An incredibly special, limited release base that is an equal blend of US grown organic cotton and wool. You heard me right! Both the wool AND the cotton are organic, AND from the US. This is incredibly rare, as only a few farms in the US are growing cotton organically (and making yarn from it, vs fabric). Cotton is one of the most heavily sprayed crops, with using 16% of the world’s insecticides, and the main reason we don’t have more cotton yarn bases.
Hornfels is lusciously soft and has a unique and lovely drape. I’m imagining all of the cardigans and shawls!
The second photo shows Hawthorn Anther to the left of a similar but oh so different color in the same base, Prunus (on the right). Hawthorn Anther is a little deeper, and a little more pink.
fingering weight / 50% organic cotton 50% organic wool

All yarns were hand dyed and stored in a smoke and pet free environment. Due to the unpredictability of natural dyeing, all hanks will differ with some slight variegation. We do our best to capture the yarn's true color to the best of our abilities, but each monitor is different. Please reach out if you have any questions.
